When Bellevue Christian begins its third football season in the fall of 2013, it will do so without head coach Greg Schneider.

BCS athletic director Mark DeJonge announced the program was in search of a new leader in an email to students and parents on Tuesday.

The Vikings won their first two games as a program during the 2011 season before finishing the program’s inaugural season 5-4. BCS won only two games this year, its first in the Nisqually League and lost its final eight games of the season.

Below is DeJonge’s statement to players and parents, which was provided to the Reporter.

BCS Football Players and Parents,

Over the past number of weeks BCS Head Football Coach Greg Schneider and I have had multiple conversations regarding the future of the BCS football program.  As a result of those conversations a decision has been made to move in a different direction and change leadership of the BCS football team.  Coach Schneider put in an incredible amount of time and energy to launch the BCS football team two years ago.  We as a school are grateful for his leadership and the Godly character in which he started the program.  We wish Coach Schneider the best.

The position of BCS head football coach will be posted immediately and we will work diligently to bring in the right person to lead the BCS football program.  As we move forward in the process I will keep everyone informed of what is going on.

There will be more information coming very soon about a weight program that will be introduced for all of the team.
