The Seahawks hope to keep their hopes for an NFC West title alive and stretch a season-best winning streak to four games when the San Francisco 49ers come to CenturyLink Field for a Sunday Night Football broadcast on NBC.

“They’ve had a great season, again, and they come off a fantastic win over New England that everyone would respect,” Seattle head coach Pete Carroll said in his Wednesday press conference. “We know we’re up against a fantastic group.”Seattle made Toronto’s Rogers Centre feel like home in last week’s 50-17 win over the Buffalo Bills, bolstered by three first half rushing touchdowns from rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson and the rushing offense now rank second in the league, while the total offensive rank has jumped to 16th best in the NFL and scoring offense to 11th.

“We definitely have looked to broaden the scope of what we’re doing,” Carroll said. “We’re going to have to make some great throws on these guys to make some plays.”

It will be a stingy and physical San Francisco defense hoping to slow Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks, as the 49ers enter the game with the top-ranked scoring defense in the league. That unit also ranks second in total defense, third in rush defense and fifth in passing defense with a turnover margin of plus-eight.
