Bothell’s Michael Marriott hit a solo home run and Alex Reynolds had two RBIs but the Knights did themselves in with six errors that allowed the Cougars to escape with an 8-6 KingCo 4A win Thursday, April 9 at Bellevue College.
Sophomore Dan Altchech went 2-for-3, getting his first league hits, and scored two runs in the loss for Newport. Despite the six errors, the Knights (5-4, 4-3 league) turned two inning-ending double plays to prevent further damage.
Jeff Gonzales pitched four innings for Newport and took the loss. Colin Hering had two RBIs and Victor King had one, but the Knights couldn’t get things going, leaving nine men on base.
Jordan Kynaston pitched three and 2/3 innings for Bothell (9-2, 6-1) to get the win.

Liberty 5, Sammamish 2
The Patriots broke a 2-all tie with runs in the fourth and fifth innings en route to a 5-2 KingCo 3A/2A league win at home in Renton.
Eric Peterson had a big day at the plate for Liberty, knocking in three runs and hitting his third home run of the season. John McLeod pitched six innings to get the win for the Patriots (8-2, 7-1 league). Dan Eck pitched a scoreless seventh inning to get his second save of the season.
Ross Kylczyk took the loss for the Totems (4-6, 3-5), going four innings.
Mount Si 12, Interlake 5
Mount Si led only 2-1 before exploding for nine runs in the third inning to help beat Interlake 12-5.
Zach Guyer had three RBIs and Dustin Breshers knocked in two as the Wildcats offense had 14 hits off Interlake pitching. Michael Davenport pitched only three innings and picked up the win for Mount Si (8-4, 7-3).
Spencer Nelson hit a home run for the Saints (1-10, 1-9) in the loss.

Bellevue 9, Bothell 5
The Wolverines broke a 5-5 tie with four runs in the ninth inning that gave Bellevue a 9-5 non-league win in Bothell against the Cougars.
Jake Collier went 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help Alex Bielaski get the win for Bellevue (7-2, 6-2 KingCo 3A/2A).
Kevin McShane took the loss for Bothell (9-3, 6-1 KingCo 4A).
