When the news first came out that Bellevue Christian would begin a football program in 2011 and compete against a varsity schedule, it was tough to imagine what the product would look like on the field.

But with longtime youth coach Greg Schneider at the helm, a group that is familiar with success in a variety of other sports and in many cases has competed together for several years, the Vikings surpassed any and all expectations with a 5-4 mark, including a pair of wins to open the season.

The highlights of the year included a 41-8 victory over Northwest Christian School (Lacey) in the first-ever game and a 44-20 win over Chief Leschi.
