Wilson earns coveted award

Bellevue Wolverines senior girls basketball player Anna Wilson earned Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) athlete of the week honors following her stellar performance in the Class 3A state girls basketball tournament.

Wilson averaged 10.67 points, 5.67 rebounds, three assists and a steal per game during the state tourney on March 3-5.

Local golfers win tournament in inclement weather

Tommy McCoy of Sammamish and Dom Marrese of Bellevue were crowned co-champions in the boys 16-18 division at the Washington Kickoff golf tournament on March 12 at the Canterwood Golf and Country Club in Gig Harbor. McCoy and Marrese both finished with a round of 78, which was six over par on a day with blustery rainy weather conditions. Seattle’s Gabe Spach finished in third place with a 79.

The Washington Kickoff was the first event the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour has hosted in Washington.
