Wolverines fall by three to Liberty | Prep girls basketball roundup

Newport, Interlake, Bellevue and Sammamish were all toppled on Wednesday in girls basketball.

Inglemoor 58 Newport 44

Marikah Wright was the only Knight in double-digits with 10 points as the Vikes pulled away early behind a game-high 18 points from Taylor Peacocke.

Newport trailed by 15 at the break before closing the gap in the fourth and final quarter.

Kelly Conroy added 15 for Inglemoor and Milana Hoving finished with eight for Newport.

Liberty 50 Bellevue 47

The Wolverines moved out to a nine point lead at the half before faltering in a third quarter that went 14-4 in favor of the Patriots.

Katie Savard led all scorers with 19 points for Bellevue in the loss. Delane Agnew and Aspen Winegar had 14 and 13 respectively for Liberty.

Mercer Island 48 Sammamish 26

Natsumi Naito and Montana Hagstrom scored 21 of the Totems’ 26 points, but it wasn’t enough against the Islanders, who pulled away in the second half and blanked Sammamish 14-0 in the final period to get the win.

Natsumi had 12 and Hagstrom finished with nine for the Totems in the loss. Kristen Brackmann had 16 and Julia Blumerstein finished with 11 for M-I.

Mount Si 53 Interlake 37

Both Molly Sellers and Jordan Riley netted 10 points for the Wildcats, who jumped to a 13-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Marta Mueller led all scorers with 11 points for the Saints and Ebony Jackson chipped in with eight. Elizabeth Prewitt and Shelby Peerboom also ended the night with eight points for Mount Si.
