Wolverines finish season with title, Interlake finishes at state softball tournament | Prep sports news

Bellevue won its second boys lacrosse title in three years over Eastside Catholic.

Bellevue too much for Crusaders in lacrosse final

Eastside Catholic trailed by only two after the first quarter but was never able to gain a foothold against Bellevue, which took the boys Division I title with a 13-4 win at Seattle Memorial Stadium.

Andrew Gulrajani scored a game-high four goals for Bellevue while Colin MacIlvennie netted three for EC in the loss.

The win, a decisive victory that avenged a regular season loss to Crusaders in March, put the Wolverines back on the podium for the first time since 2010 and just the second since 1992. It’s Bellevue’s 13 overall boys and girls state lacrosse title since beginning high school play in 1980.

The Wolverines end the season with a 19-2-0 mark while the Crusaders finish 2012 with a record of 14-4-0.

Interlake season ends in 2A state softball tournament

Interlake’s season ended in the consolation bracket of the 2A state tournament with a 6-1 loss to fourth-place finisher Sequim.

The Saints, which made the first state softball appearance in school history after winning the West Central District III tournament without allowing a single run in 21 innings, won the first game at state 10-8 over Sehome before falling to Selah in the quarterfinals.
